About the Project

Theme Park Crowd Report is built by Fred Hazelton, a data scientist and former statistician at TouringPlans.com — where he spent years building the crowd prediction and wait time models that millions of Disney visitors rely on.

Now he's building something new: the Wait Time Index (WTI) — a single number that tells you how crowded a park is, no asterisks required. Think of it like a temperature for a theme park.

WTI is built on machine learning, not hand-picked attraction lists or subjective 1-10 scales. It uses real wait time data from every reporting attraction to give you an objective, consistent measure of crowd levels — across 12 parks and 15+ years of historical data.

What makes this different?

  • ML-powered predictions trained on millions of wait time observations
  • One consistent metric across all parks — no arbitrary scales
  • Built by someone who literally wrote crowd prediction models for a living
  • Independent — not tied to any park or travel company
  • A different lens on the same problem

This project is currently in open beta — everything is free, and we're actively improving the models every day. Join the Discord to get early access and help shape what this becomes.
